Mr Real Fires Back as Idowest Claims Ownership of Hit Song 'Legbegbe'

The ongoing feud between Nigerian singers Mr Real and Idowest has taken a fresh turn, with both artists locked in a heated dispute over the ownership of the 2018 street anthem 'Legbegbe' .

The tension resurfaced after Idowest appeared on a livestream with content creator Carter Efe, where he made a stunning claim: he, not Mr Real, is the original creator of the track .

Idowest's Bold Claim

During the livestream, Idowest insisted that he wrote and composed the entire song, alleging that Mr Real was only featured as a "boy in the hood" .

He did not stop at claiming ownership, also issuing a threat of physical confrontation against his colleague. "I am the original owner of 'Legbegbe.' I composed the full song. I only featured Mr Real on the track as my boy in the hood but now he's claiming the song. He is an old man, I will beat him up," Idowest said .

Mr Real's Fiery Response

The 'Legbegbe' crooner did not take the claims lying down. In a video broadcast, Mr Real firmly rejected Idowest's assertions, insisting he is the rightful owner of the song that defined the Shaku Shaku era .

He also accepted Idowest's invitation for a public brawl, while firing back with allegations about his rival's past.

"Idowest, I heard everything you said on Carter Efe's live. You said you will beat me in a match. I am your senior brother and I will beat you," Mr Real declared. "I heard you were deported from America. Instead of you to promote your music, you are downgrading me and claiming my song, 'Legbegbe.' I won't even waste my precious time on you" .

A Long-Standing Beef

This latest war of words is the culmination of a dispute that has simmered for years. Since the release of 'Legbegbe', Mr Real has consistently expressed regret over featuring Idowest on the track, claiming it hindered his career growth .

In previous interviews, he stated that releasing the song as a solo project could have elevated him to the level of Afrobeats giants like Wizkid and Burna Boy . He also revealed that a potential remix with Wizkid fell through due to industry complications, an opportunity he described as a major setback .

Celebrity Boxing Showdown?

The verbal sparring has now escalated to the point where a physical contest is being discussed. Reports indicate that both singers have agreed to a potential celebrity boxing match, adding another layer of drama to the already heated rivalry .

As the debate over the true ownership of 'Legbegbe' continues to divide fans, the clash between the two artists shows no signs of cooling down .
